Defect Summary
Navistar, inc. (navistar) is recalling certain 2022-2024 international hv, international mv trucks, and 2022-2023 ic bus tc commercial buses. when the parking brake is applied, the automatic transmission is still in drive or reverse position, and the stationary power take-off (pto) switch is engaged by the operator, the engine may rev and overcome the parking brake's ability to keep the vehicle from moving.
Safety Consequence
Unexpected vehicle movement can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Corrective Action
Dealers will update the cummins ecm software, free of charge. owner notification letters are expected to be mailed april 24, 2023. owners may contact navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. navistar's number for this recall is 23504. this recall expands previous nhtsa recall number 20v-810.
