Defect Summary
Mack trucks, inc. (mack) is recalling certain 2023 granite (gr) vehicles. the front-drive steer axle fasteners may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.
Safety Consequence
Steer axle assembly separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will replace and tighten the axle fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed march 20, 2023. owners may contact mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. mack's number for this recall is sc0441.
