Defect Summary

Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2023 rebel 300 (cmx300) motorcycles. the right engine crank house cover was incorrectly painted, allowing the press-fit plug to fall out.

Safety Consequence

Oil can leak onto the exhaust pipe or rear tire without the plug, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.

Corrective Action

Dealers will replace the right crank case cover, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed may 25, 2023. owners may contact honda customer service at 1-800-784-1870. honda's number for this recall is kp2.
