Defect Summary
Vinfast auto, llc (vinfast) is recalling certain 2023 vf8 vehicles. a software error may cause the multifunction head unit (mhu) display to go blank. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 101, "control and displays."
Safety Consequence
A blank mhu display will not show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, which may increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Vinfast will update the software, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed june 1, 2023. owners may contact vinfast customer service at 1-833-503-0600. vinfast's number for this recall is vpac-74.
