Defect Summary
Volvo trucks north america (volvo trucks) is recalling certain 2020-2024 vnr electric vehicles. the rivnut threaded inserts inside the high-voltage battery may be over-tightened and break, which could result in a short circuit.
Safety Consequence
An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the batteries, free of charge. interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed september 15, 2023. owners will receive a second notice once remedy becomes available. owners may contact volvo trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. volvo trucks' number for this recall is rvxx2308.
