Defect Summary

Porsche cars north america, inc. (porsche) is recalling certain 2024 cayenne, cayenne s, cayenne coupe, cayenne turbo gt, and cayenne s coupe vehicles. after the vehicle is turned off, the rear hazard warning lights and the parking lights may not illuminate if they are activated within 10 seconds after the gateway control unit shuts off. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Safety Consequence

Rear hazard warning lights and parking lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Dealers will update the gateway control unit software, free of charge. owner notification letters are expected to be mailed september 26, 2023. owners may contact porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. porsche's number for this recall is apb1.
