Defect Summary

Hyundai translead is recalling certain 2022 v/t 53sw q29485 vi2530154-afj dry van trailers equipped with dexter smart-steer 2.0 axles with bolt-on steering arms. the steering arm may fracture during certain conditions, such as low speed and high side-loading.

Safety Consequence

The fractured steering arm and tie rod can separate and fall to the ground, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Dealers will install a new steering arm and additional welds, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed august 7, 2023. owners may contact hyundai translead customer service at 1-800-251-0871.
