Defect Summary
Watson & chalin manufacturing, inc. (w&c) is recalling certain sl2065 steerable lift axle suspension systems with a 20,000lb capacity. the bearing journals may not be fully seated into the left and right-side steering knuckle assembly.
Safety Consequence
A loose spindle may fracture, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
W&c will work with commercial vehicle manufacturers and vehicle owners to provide and assist with the installation of replacement axle subassemblies, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact w&c customer service at 1-972-838-1266 or 1-972-547-6020. W&c's number for this recall is w&c 2024-01.
