Defect Summary

Reading truck equipment llc (reading) is recalling certain curt trailer hitches with part numbers 15402 and 15845, installed on 2023-2024 ford f350 and f550 vehicles. to install the hitch, the fuel tank was dropped, and the fuel tank strap fasteners were not properly tightened when the tank was re-installation.

Safety Consequence

An improperly secured fuel tank can separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Dealers will inspect and tighten the fuel strap fasteners, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed november 4, 2024. owners may contact reading customer service at 1-800-458-2226.
