Defect Summary
Winnebago industries, inc. (winnebago) is recalling certain 2023 - 2024 sunstar motorhomes. the tire information label incorrectly states the tire size and gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr). as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 110, "tire selection and rims."
Safety Consequence
Incorrect tire information could result in tires that do not meet gvwr specifications being installed, affecting vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Winnebago will mail owners a corrected certification label, free of charge. interim owner notification letters were mailed may 1, 2024. once the final remedy is available a second notice will be mailed. owners may contact winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.
