Defect Summary

Coach and equipment mfg. Corp. (coach and equipment) is recalling certain 2024 phoenix shuttle buses, equipped with certain go-es space saver foldaway seats. the recliner mechanism may not engage when the seat back is fully reclined. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 210, "seat belt assembly anchorages."

Safety Consequence

The seat back could release under the shoulder belt load, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Corrective Action

Coach and equipment will direct owners to freedman's instructions on how to inspect and repair the seat as necessary, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed may 13, 2024. owners may contact coach and equipment customer service at 1-800-724-8464.
