Defect Summary
Daimler trucks north america, llc (dtna) is recalling certain 2023-2024 freightliner custom chassis xcr and 2024 xbs, xcm chassis. the remote fuel filter hoses may become separated from the fittings, which can result in a fuel leak and a lack of fuel supply to the engine.
Safety Consequence
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Cummins will replace the fuel filter hoses, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed july 8, 2024. owners may contact dtna customer service at 800-745-8000. dtna's number for this recall is f1003.
