Defect Summary

Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2024 transit vehicles. the front gross axle weight rating may be labeled incorrectly on the vehicle b-pillar label and the owner's manual label, which can result in an overloaded vehicle.

Safety Consequence

An overloaded vehicle may result in steering knuckle failure and a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Dealers will replace the labels, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed september 23, 2024. owners may contact ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. ford's number for this recall is 24s53.
