Defect Summary

Gkn automotive (gkn) is recalling certain replacement driveshafts for 2006-2015 bmw mini, 2004-2018 land rover discovery, and range rover vehicles. the driveshaft can crack or break.

Safety Consequence

A cracked or broken driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power or a vehicle rollaway while in park. both scenarios increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Gkn will reimburse the cost of a replacement driveshaft and installation labor. notification letters were mailed to distributors november 20, 2024. owners may contact gkn customer service at marketing.nma@gknautomotive.com or by calling +31-653435212.
