The involved backrest may break at the point where the round tube material is flattened to facilitate mechanical attachments to a luggage carrier produced by the same manufacturer. This cracking is believed to be caused by motorcycle vibration.
Corrective Action
The dealer will install a reinforced design backrest, which can stand an increased load, on all affected vehicles, free of charge.
