Defect Summary
On certain vehicles, the audible signal may not sound when the emergency door release mechanism is not in the closed position and the ignition is in the "on" position. This does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 217, "bus window retention and release".
Corrective Action
Dealer will install a modified latch mechanism which will allow activation of the alarm, independent of the door position.
