Defect Summary

The mounting of the crossmember may be insufficient. Crossmembers are mounted to a shim piece of square tubing and then this entire structure is mounted to the frame. The small shim piece could become detached from the crossmember which would allow the body to move down two inches. This movement could puncture the fuel tank.

Corrective Action

The cross member mount reinforcements will be installed by dealer, if necessary.
