Defect Summary

The electronic fuel control bypass valve on the fuel pump may malfunction when in the bypass mode.

Safety Consequence

If the above condition exists, the engine couldaccelerate to full throttle unexpectedly if cruise control or power take offfunction is activated.

Corrective Action

The electronic fuel control bypass valve has been redesigned to prevent loss of throttle control with the pace sysems when operating in cruise control.
