Defect Summary

Due to the substitution of a spacer for a retainer on the steering wheel assembly, spacer could break allowing the steering wheel to separate from the mounting hub.

Safety Consequence

If steering wheel separated while the truck was moving,steering control would be lost and a crash could result.

Corrective Action

Install retainer in place of the spacer.
