The neutral by pass switch which allows the neutral start safety switch to be overridden violates the federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 102.
Safety Consequence
Should the neutral start switch be overridden and thebus engine started while in gear, it is possible for the bus to moveunexpectedly. this could result in a vehicle accident.
Corrective Action
On vehicles with automatic transmission, the switch is to be disconnected.
