The lower ball joint retaining nut that holds the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle was not torqued correctly.
Safety Consequence
If the lower ball joint becomes disconnected from thesteering knuckle, the wheel will tip outward resulting in loss of steeringcontrol and a possible vehicle accident.
Corrective Action
Inspect lower ball joints, replace worn parts, and torque the lower ball joint mounting nut 130 to 150 foot pounds.
