Defect Summary

The rear shock absorber bracket causes the rear shock absorber lower mounting hardware to fail prematurely.

Safety Consequence

The rear shock absorber may become detached and causedamage to surrounding components (tires, springs, etc.) which could lead toloss of vehicle control and an accident.

Corrective Action

Remove old shock absorber mounting brackets, reattach new brackets to frame, adapt shock absorbers and add a jounce pad spacer between each jounce pad and the new shock absorber brackets.
