Defect Summary

Certain s9000 front drive axle assemblies may contain a tie-rod which may fracture at the adjustable sleeve due to fatigue.

Safety Consequence

Failure of the tie rod results in loss of steeringcontrol and a possible vehicle crash.

Corrective Action

Replace the tie rod with a tie rod that does not use an adjustment sleeve.
