Defect Summary
The vehicles are not in compliance with several federal motor vehicle safety standards. Fmvss 101 and 105: the word "brake" is not displayed in clear view of the driver on the illuminated map indicator lamp. Fmvss 208: the duration of the illumination of the seat belt warning light may fall short of the required 60 seconds after the ignition switch is moved to the "on" or "start" position. Fmvss 209: the automatic shoulder belt identification label displaying the manufacturer's name, model, and date of manufacture is missing.
Safety Consequence
Compliance to fmvss is required for any and all vehicles imported into the united states to assure minimum safety requirements.
Corrective Action
A technician will be dispatched to the vehicle's location and correction of the noncompliances will be performed.
