Defect Summary

The cinch bar component within the passenger side safety belt buckle assembly shatters causing the belt to release.

Safety Consequence

The passenger would not be properly restrained and could be injured in the event of a sudden stop or accident.

Corrective Action

Dealers will replace the cinch bar with a newly designed part.
