Defect Summary

During compliance testing, a crotch strap assembly separated from the shell of an infant restraint. this does not comply with requirements of fmvss 213, "child restraint systems."

Safety Consequence

In the event of a collision, the occupant of the child seat may not be properly restrained increasing the risk of injury.

Corrective Action

Kolcraft will provide owner with instructions to examine the crotch strap retainer clip and for realigning the clip if it has been misinstalled. a sticker will also be provided for installation on the child restraint notifying the user of the possibility of a misaligned strap retainer clip with simple instructions for its realignment.
