Defect Summary
The fuel tank protection barrier collapsed during impact testing. This does not meet the requirements of fmvss no. 301, "fuel system integrity."
Safety Consequence
In the event of a collision, the fuel tank can rupture, leaking fuel increasing the potential for a vehicle fire.
Corrective Action
Owners will be provided with replacement fuel barriers and installation instructions.
